2025-01-27

Four different teams grab crucial wins over the weekend as the GLHL standings heat up.

Friday, January 24
Fox Cities Ice Dogs 4, Calumet Wolverines 3 (OT)

The Ice Dogs edged out the Wolverines 4-3 in an overtime thriller Friday night. The teams traded goals throughout regulation, with Matt Hughes opening the scoring for Fox Cities in the first period before Calumet’s Matt Yeo tied it up late. The second period saw each team convert on the power play, with Jeremy Ballard finding the net for the Ice Dogs and Logan Rastello responding for the Wolverines. Calumet took the lead briefly in the third with an unassisted goal by Seth Coppo, but Nick Janssen evened the score with just 32 seconds remaining in regulation. Ballard sealed the victory for the Ice Dogs at 1:24 of overtime, burying a feed from Connor Zilisch for his second goal of the night. Fox Cities outshot Calumet 42-32, with strong performances from both goaltenders—Drew Chaney stopping 29 shots for the Ice Dogs and Bruce Parisot making 38 saves for the Wolverines.
