Fondy and Portage Lake complete two-win weekends

The Fond du Lac Bears and Portage Lake Pioneers showed dominance on the weekend with a pair of victories each, while Mosinee earned a win over De Pere at home.

Portage Lake 7, Calumet 2
The Portage Lake Pioneers (7-1-0) had seven different players score, and got 37 saves from Brett Beudry as they defeated Calumet (0-7-0) in Calumet Friday night. 

Mosinee 10, De Pere 1
The Papermakers (4-1-0) jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one as they routed De Pere (1-5-0). Eric Vehlow led Mosinee offensively with three goals and five points. 

Fond du Lac 8, Eagle River 1
The Bears (3-1-0) scored five goals in the second period to pull away from the visiting Falcons (3-2-2) in exhibition play. Ryan Smet led the Bears offensively with two goals and an assist. 

Portage Lake 3, Calumet 2
The Pioneers (7-1-1) scored two in the third to earn a comeback win and a regular-season sweep over the Wolverines (0-7-0). Pete Rouleau had a playmaker. 

Fond du Lac 6, West Bend 4
The Fond du Lac Bears (3-1-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead, and held on strong with the rival Bombers (5-1-0) visiting town. Cody Sokolik led the way for Fondy, scoring two goals and adding an assist.
